Coach Manfredi is the Head Varsity Boys’ Basketball coach at Franklin High School. He has been coaching basketball since 2000 and prior to Franklin High School, Manfredi coached at Monterey Trail High School (2004-2015), Elk Grove High School (2001-2004) and Redwood High School (2000-2001).
Coach Manfredi’s coaching philosophy is to teach character and values through sport. He is a teacher of sport, skill, and character. The core values taught in the Wildcats basketball program, attitude, effort, and skill, are fundamental to the players’ development as students, athletes, and young men. It is his mission to blend passion with perspective, to combine love of the sport and intensity with knowledge, integrity and self-discipline.
As a student-athlete, Coach Manfredi played collegiate basketball at UC Davis from 1992-’96. While at UC Davis, he graduated with a degree in Political Science and History and competed on two NCAC league championship basketball teams.
Coach Manfredi has been married for 12 years and has two sons and a daughter.
Coach Messina is the Varsity Boys’ Basketball Assistant Coach at Franklin High School. He has been coaching basketball since 2001 and prior to Franklin High School, Messina coached at Monterey Trail High School, Burbank High School and Florin High School.
Coach Messina has a degree in Banking and Finance. He is a Financial Advisor and Accountant. He has owned and operated American Tax and Financial Securities since 1995.
Coach Messina has been married for 29 years.
Coach Emberley has been coaching basketball in the Elk Grove Unified School District since 1997. His coaching career began at Valley High School as both a JV Head Coach and then became Varsity Assistant Coach. He continued as a Varsity Assistant Coach at Laguna Creek High School, Pleasant Grove High School and at Elk Grove High School.
Coach Emberley played high school basketball at Napa High School and college basketball at Napa Valley Junior College. He continues to play basketball at least twice a week. Chris graduated from Sonoma State University with a degree in Kinesiology in 1990. He also received a teaching credential from Chapman University in 1992.
Coach Emberley has been married for 25 years, and has two daughters.
Coach Jefferson is a Freshman Boys’ Basketball Coach at Franklin High School, and has coached there since 2014. Coach Jefferson also teaches basketball fundamentals to youth of all ages for the local Cosumnes CSD, and is the head coach of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School class of 2021 boys’ basketball team.
Coach Jefferson embraces the core values of attitude, effort, and skill, which are fundamental to the Wildcats basketball program. As a youth boys’ basketball coach, Coach Jefferson’s goals are to ensure:
1) each player has fun and wants to continue playing and learning the game,
2) each player feels good about himself and how he played at the end of every practice and every game so that he has confidence on and off the court, and 3) each player learns the fundamentals of the game so that he can be successful now and in future seasons of basketball.
Coach Jefferson has a degree in biology, has been married for 11 years, and has two sons.
